Comment Picker

Load the comments from a YouTube video, or paste any list. Filter, then draw a winner with a seed anyone can re-run to verify the result.

Up to 500 top-level comments. Replies are not entries, so they are excluded.

A giveaway works best on a profile that already looks alive

Entries follow reach, and reach follows early engagement. Our packages give the giveaway post a credible start.

A giveaway is only worth running if the people entering believe the draw was real. This picker is built around that: every draw is made from a seed that is shown to you, and anyone who has the same entrant list and the same seed can re-run the draw and get the same winner. That turns “trust me” into something a viewer can check.

It loads comments straight from a YouTube video, and it accepts a pasted list from anywhere else, so it works for Instagram and TikTok giveaways too. There is no login and no access to your account at any point.

How to use the Comment Picker

  1. Paste a YouTube video link and press Load comments, or switch to the paste tab and paste one entrant per line.
  2. Set your rules: one entry per person, must contain a keyword, minimum length, exclude your own replies.
  3. Choose how many winners to draw.
  4. Press Draw. Screenshot the result: it shows the seed, the entrant count and the winners, which together let anyone verify the draw.

How the draw is actually made fair

Most pickers draw with the browser’s built-in random function, which cannot be reproduced or checked. This one generates a seed, shows it to you, and runs a deterministic shuffle from that seed. Same entrants plus same seed always produces the same winners.

That means you can publish the seed and the entrant count alongside the winner, and a sceptical viewer can confirm you did not re-roll until you liked the name. It is a small thing that changes how a giveaway is received, and it costs nothing.

The filters that matter

  • One entry per person. The single most important rule. Without it, whoever commented forty times has forty times the chance, and everyone can see it.
  • Must contain a keyword. If your rules said to comment “done” or tag a friend, enforce it. It also removes most drive-by comments.
  • Minimum length. Filters out single-emoji entries where your rules asked for something more.
  • Exclude the creator. Your own replies should not be in the draw, and they are removed by default.

Running a giveaway that does not get you in trouble

  • State the rules, the closing time and the timezone before you start. Most disputes are about the deadline.
  • Say how the winner will be contacted and how long they have to reply. Set a second drawn name aside for when the first never answers.
  • Do not require people to follow multiple unrelated accounts. Instagram and TikTok both discourage follow-loop mechanics and they attract exactly the audience you do not want.
  • Giveaways are regulated in many places. A prize draw that requires a purchase is a lottery in a lot of jurisdictions. If your prize is substantial, check your local rules.
  • Publish the seed and the entrant count with the winner. It takes one line and it settles every argument.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with Instagram or TikTok comments?

Not automatically: neither platform serves comments to an automated request. Copy the commenter names into the paste box and every filter and the verifiable draw still work.

How many comments can it load from YouTube?

Up to 500 top-level comments per video. Replies are excluded, because a reply is not an entry.

What is the seed for?

It makes the draw checkable. Publish it with the winner and anyone with the same entrant list can re-run the draw and confirm the result. Without a seed, a viewer has only your word that you did not re-roll.

Do you keep the comments?

The video’s public comments are cached briefly so that re-drawing does not re-fetch them. Nothing about you or your entrants is stored, and a pasted list never leaves your browser at all.

Can I draw more than one winner?

Yes, and it is worth drawing at least one spare. Winners who never reply are the most common way a giveaway stalls.
