YouTube Channel Audit

Paste a channel handle or link. We read the public numbers and grade them, and we are explicit about the one thing no outside tool can see.

@handle, a youtube.com/@handle link, a /channel/UC... link, or the raw UC... ID.

The subscriber threshold is the one part you can act on directly

Watch hours come from content. The 1,000-subscriber gate is the piece a package can help you clear so the clock on the rest starts sooner.

See YouTube subscriber packages

This reads everything YouTube publishes about a channel and turns it into a short set of findings: whether the subscriber count clears the Partner Programme threshold, how many views each upload earns on average, and whether the subscriber number is being backed up by actual watching.

It is also explicit about its own limit. Watch hours are visible only to the channel owner inside YouTube Studio. Any tool claiming to check Partner Programme eligibility from the outside is checking half the requirement and guessing at the other half. This one checks the half it can see, says so, and tells you exactly where to look for the rest.

How to use the YouTube Channel Audit

  1. Paste a channel handle like @mkbhd, a channel link, or a channel ID starting with UC.
  2. Press Audit.
  3. Read the findings. Green is a pass, amber is worth attention, grey means the data is not public.
  4. For monetisation, check watch hours yourself in YouTube Studio under Analytics.

What the Partner Programme actually requires

There are two routes in, and a channel needs only one of them plus the subscriber threshold.

  • 1,000 subscribers. Required either way. This is the part this tool can check.
  • 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months, the long-form route.
  • 10 million valid public Shorts views in the last 90 days, the Shorts route.
  • Plus: an AdSense account, two-step verification, no active Community Guidelines strikes, and availability in your country.

The numbers that matter more than subscribers

Views per subscriber is the most revealing figure on this page and almost nobody looks at it. Divide lifetime views by subscribers. Above about thirty means an audience that actually watches. Below ten means the subscriber count is flattering the channel: people subscribed once, years ago, and never came back. A channel with 100,000 subscribers and a views-per-subscriber figure of four has a much harder road than one with 20,000 and a figure of sixty.

Average views per upload is the second. It tells you whether the channel is growing or coasting, and it is the figure a sponsor will quietly work out before they quote you a price.

What this audit cannot see, and why that is fine

Watch time, audience retention, click-through rate, traffic sources, subscriber churn and revenue are all private to the channel owner. That is not a gap in this tool, it is how YouTube works, and it is why the findings here are framed as public-facing health rather than as a diagnosis. If it is your channel, this page tells you how you look from the outside; YouTube Studio tells you what is happening inside. You need both, and the outside view is the one you never normally get.

Frequently asked questions

Can you tell me if a channel is monetised?

No, and neither can anyone else from outside. YouTube does not publish it. What we can tell you is whether the subscriber half of the requirement is met, which is the part that is public.

Why is the subscriber count approximate?

YouTube rounds every public subscriber count above 1,000 to three significant figures. Total view counts are exact, which is why we treat the two differently and label the rounding.

The channel hides its subscriber count. What then?

Then nobody outside can see it, including us, and the audit reports that rather than inventing a number. Everything else still works.

Does a low views-per-subscriber figure mean bought subscribers?

Not necessarily. Old channels that changed direction show the same pattern, as do channels whose audience aged out of the topic. It means the subscriber number is not describing the current audience, whatever the cause.

How current is the data?

It is read live from the channel page and cached for about an hour, so a repeat check is instant. The result shows how old the reading is.
